牡丹皮Moutan Cortex始载于《神农本草经》,历史悠久,常作为佐药应用于肾阴亏虚导致的“消渴症”。现代药理学研究表明牡丹皮活性成分丹皮酚、丹皮多糖、丹皮总苷等具有明显降糖作用,其机制与缓解胰岛素抵抗、抑制糖异生、保护胰岛B细胞、促进糖原合成、抗氧化等有关;牡丹皮活性成分在改善糖尿病并发症如肾病、血管病变、心肌病和白内障方面也发挥着重要作用,具有开发新药价值。系统综述了牡丹皮活性成分改善糖尿病及其并发症的研究进展,为牡丹皮活性成分的进一步研究及临床应用提供参考。

Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex) was first published in Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica. It has a long history and is often used as an adjuvant in the "diabetes disease" caused by kidney yin deficiency. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that paeonol, Moutan Cortex polysaccharide and total glycosides of Moutan Cortex have obvious hypoglycemic effects, and its mechanism is related to alleviating insulin resistance, inhibiting gluconeogenesis, protecting islet B cells, promoting glycogen synthesis and antioxidation. The active ingredients of Moutan Cortex also play an important role in improving diabetic complications such as nephropathy, vascular disease, cardiomyopathies and cataract, which have the potential of developing new drugs. Research progress on improving diabetes and its complications of active ingredients of Moutan Cortex were systematically reviewed in this paper, in order to provide reference for further research and clinical application of active ingredients of Moutan Cortex.
