Eleven compounds were isolated from the ethyl alcohol extract of the root of Rubia sylvatica Nakai On the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral data, these compounds were identified as: 5-hydroxy-naphtho [1,2-b] furan-4-carboxylic acid methyl ester (Ⅰ),rubimaillin (Ⅱ), 1-hydroxy-2-methyl-9, 10-anthraquinone (Ⅲ), β-sitosterol (Ⅳ), daucosterol (Ⅴ), 1, 3, 6-trihydroxy-2-methyl-9, 10-anthraquinone-3-O-(-6′-O-acetyl)-α-rhamnosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucoside (Ⅵ), 1, 3, 6-trihydroxy-2-methyl-9, 10-anthraquinone-3-O-α-rhamnosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucoside (Ⅶ),1,4-dihydroxy-3-prenyl-2-naphtholic acid methyl ester (Ⅷ), 1, 3, 6-trihydroxy-2-methyl-9, 10-anthraquinone-3-O-(3′, 6′-O-diacetyl)-α-rhamnosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucoside (Ⅸ), 1, 3, 6-trihydroxy-2-methyl-9, 10-anthraquinone-3-O-(4′, 6′-O-diacetyl)-α-rhamnosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucoside (Ⅹ), 1, 3, 6-trihydroxy-2-methyl-9, 10-anthraquinone-3-O-β-D-glucoside (Ⅺ)
