何首乌Polygonum multiforum Thunb.是常用滋补中药，广泛应用于临床和保健产品，但是近年来不时出现何首乌及其制品致肝损伤的报道，引起关注。通过整理分析关于生首乌和制首乌的国内外相关报道，从生首乌和制首乌致肝毒性的物质基础（水提物、醇提物、二苯乙烯苷、蒽醌类化合物和没食子酸等）归纳总结其致肝毒性的药理作用研究进展。发现生首乌和制首乌的混淆以及长期高剂量给药可能是致肝损伤的主要原因。在不同病理动物和细胞模型中总结分析何首乌化学成分，发现其化学成分的结构以及成分之间的相互作用也是致肝损伤的原因之一。此外，何首乌引起的肝损伤是特征性的肝损伤，个体的体质差异也是重要原因。
Radix Polygoni Multiflori (RPM) is widely used in clinical and health care products. In recent years, liver injury caused by RPM and its processed products have been reported, which has attracted and made substantial progress. The relevant reports about RPM and Radix Polygoni Multiflori Praeparata (RPMP) was collateed and analyzed, and the pharmacological research progress of hepatotoxicity caused by RPM and RPMP were summarized from the material basis of hepatotoxicity (such as water extract, alcohol extract, stilbene glycoside, anthraquinone and gallic acid). It was found that the confusion of RPM and RPMP and long-term high dose administration may be the main causes of liver injury. The chemical constituents of RPM were summarized and analyzed in different pathological animals and cell models. It was found that the structure and interaction of chemical components of RPM was also one of the causes of liver injury. In addition, the liver injury caused by RPM is a characteristic liver injury, and individual factors are also important causes.
