[Abstract]
A laboratory-pilot plant scale second supercritical fluid extraction (SCFE) equipment was installed and used to optimize the SCFE conditions for the effective extraction of active components from leaves of Ginkgo biloba L.. Effects of six variables (pressure, temperature, extracting time, fluids ratio, CO2 ratio, and size of powdered leaves) on the yield and quality of product were studied. As a result, a light-yellow product containing 28% flavonol glycosides and 7.2% terpene lactones were obtained.
