CHEN Chang-qing in Special Training Class for Selected Presidents and Chief Editors of National Key Academic Journals

    CHEN Chang-qing, general manager of Tianjin Press of Chinese Herbal Medicines and executive editor-in chief of Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs (CTHD), attended Training in the editorial post for selected chief editors of national key academic journals during 22—31, August, and obtained the certificate awarded by General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China.
    The trainees, who were selected through a standardized and rigorous process, are presidents and chief editors of national key academic journals. The training scope included situation and policy, editorial quality and academic development, digital publishing and copyright protection, and organization management and operation. The trainers were the experts in publication field such as journal management leaders and specialists on natural sciences and social sciences in both domestic and foreign journals, and authority and leaders in various subjects of academic journals.
    The aim of the training is to link up to the national key construction projects of academic journals, after 2-year turns of training for presidents and chief editors from 100 national key academic journals on science and technology and social science as well to establish a phalanx of national key academic journals, and to make 15—20 kinds of the first world-class academic journals during the Twelve-five period.
    CTHD has successively won several honors in recent years, such as State Journal Award (the highest award of journal), Excellent Journals of China, the honor of 100 Excellent Academic Periodicals of China, the Most Effective Journal of the Past 60 Years in China, and another award― the 2nd Chinese Government Award for Publishing in 2011. Nowadays, there are four journals publishing in Tianjin Press of Chinese Herbal Medicines, they are Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs (CTHD), Chinese Herbal Medicines (CHM), Drugs & Clinic (DC), and Drug Evaluation Research (DER). Under this background, general manager CHEN Chang-qing participated in the training in the editorial post for selected chief editors of national key academic journals so as to learn new knowledge and ideas, find new initiatives, and promote the overall quality of the journal level. As a result, Tianjin Press of Chinese Herbal Medicines would develop better and stronger.
